Monthly Workshops for Everyone

Post & Pre-Natal

Offered for women seeking specific body management throughout their pregnancy. We will teach positions and postures that can achieve comfort and stability; movements and exercizes that target specific issues and areas of the body; and we provide the inspiration and guidance to  make it fun.

Back Care

A workshop that will be repeated throughout the year, back care and all that it requires should not be under-estimated. At RITUEL we have instructors who are versed in remedying exercizes and positions that can be learned to practice at home, while traveling, while sitting or engaging in any activity.  Back care includes re-learning correct posture, core muscle conditioning, tension release and mind/body coordination. During the workshops participants will use equipment, machines, floor work and their own body mass as tools for training and well-being.

Technique immersion

Each discipline offered at RITUEL will have a correlate immersion workshop enabling participants to become versed in the vocabulary, machines, equipment, transitions, postures and technique of each.  The immersion workshops are confidence-building and are essential to developing a level of autonomy in the chosen discipline.  We also hope the Immersion Workshops will serve to create a community of engaged participants, increasing the reach and scope of well-being.

Heating the Body

Inspired by Bioenergetic Therapy and the breathing and hitting series created by Julio Horvath (Gyrokinesis), this workshops consists of three parts:
1 – The goal of the first part of the workshop is to loosen up the muscles so the fascial is allowed to detox.
2 – The second part of the workshop  consists of a series of hitting exercises that loosen the muscles further, almost having the sensation that they are detached from the bones.
3 – The third part consists of breathing and sound exercises that enable to body to fill with fresh oxygen. This last part of the workshop ends with spinal elongation to free the body from any blockage.
It is recommended that one dress in layers for the workshop as the body will change temperature frequently.

Senior

Senior workshops are for participants who are experiencing the natural wonders of aging and all the changes that our bodies experience in that process e.g. joint pain and trauma, back pain, restricted flexibility, osteoporosis, breathing/calming/sleeping issues.  There is neither an age nor gender restriction to the workshop.

Pilates Ball

The Pilates Ball is a tool of many wonders.  The workshop instructs participants on how to use this versatile tool for home, travel, fun, all ages, and a full range of exercizes and stretches.

Reformer for Sports Enthusiasts

As a baseline practice of Pilates, the Reformer teaches core strength, alignment and balance for the novice or the expert athlete. Reformer-for-Athletes workshops at RITUEL will improve awareness, coordination and core strength in any chosen sport. We will sponsor workshops for: cyclists, skiers, runners and tennis players – to name a few – which will help build confidence and competence.

Yoga for Sports Enthusiasts

Yoga improves flexibility, tenacity and endurance in many other sport activities.  The Yoga-for-Athletes at RITUEL will prepare you improve your performance whatever your chosen sport.

Myofascial manipulation – Connective tissue release

This workshop will teach you self-treatment techniques that increase core stability and connective tissue function. For our muscles to activate and stretch properly we must un-block, de-stress and lengthen the tissue that surrounds them. Using foam rollers, we will show you how to perform techniques that will re-balance your body and release stored tension while challenging your core. Come learn simple ways to release pain, tension and cellulite while improving muscular efficiency, flexibility, joint mobility and posture.

Feldenkrais

Improve your well-being by learning about your body. The Feldenkrais Method is a wholly non-invasive technique that works with the body’s short-comings, issues, injuries and inherent strengths to build upon.  An instructor guides participants through a series of movements and stages of body-awareness that result in a level of relaxation and calm throughout the neuro-muscular systems.

Sound yoga

Sound yoga is an energizing, vocal demonstration of the body’s inner energy.  Sound Yoga harmonizes rhythmic yoga postures with the vibration of sound and voice to increase inner awareness, a centered mind and a calm body.
